Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner.
Cookies we use
These are strictly necessary: they keep the site secure and keep you signed in. The law does not require consent for strictly necessary cookies, which is why we do not show a cookie banner. None of them is used for advertising or to follow you across other sites.
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| shipwardly-session | Keeps your session, for example while you are signed in or have just asked for a report. Its contents are encrypted and your browser's scripts cannot read it. | 120 minutes of inactivity |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Protects forms from being submitted by other websites. | Same as the session |
| remember_web_… | Only set if you tick "Remember me" when signing in, to keep you signed in. | Up to 400 days, or until you sign out |
Cookies set by Cloudflare
Cloudflare protects our website from attacks and automated abuse, and may set its own strictly necessary security cookies on our address, such as __cf_bm (tells people from bots, for 30 minutes) and cf_clearance (only if you pass one of its security challenges, to remember that you did). They hold no personal details we can read, and we do not use them for anything else.
The Turnstile check on our scan and report forms runs inside a frame served by Cloudflare. It may use Cloudflare's own cookies or storage within that frame to tell people from automated scripts.
Saved in your browser
Your choice of day or night mode is saved in your browser's local storage under flux.appearance, not in a cookie, and is never sent to us. Nothing else is saved there.
Analytics
We do not run analytics at the moment. If we add them, we will use Plausible, which does not use cookies, does not collect personal data and does not follow you across other sites, and we will say so here.
Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block these ones, signing in and some forms will not work.
